Day 30: T-shirts and Alcohol

“We were looking for some tech action, but all we found were Oxygen t-shirts and free alcohol.”  Just thought I’d start the post showcasing what a lyrical genius I am… An Oxygen spin on an Oasis classic.

Anyway, as I mentioned in my week 5 blog post, Friday was another hectic day at Oxygen but not as we know it.

See on Friday afternoon the teams were allowed to leave the HQ (!) for a night out in London. Wahey!

Rather than a night out on the tiles, there was as usual a tech twist to this night out.

The teams were all out in force for the MiniBar event in London. Held in Shoreditch, MiniBar is a social evening where techies can discuss things such as web applications, social networking and startups whilst having some free beer.

It was a great event for our teams to be at as there were a mix of entrepreneurs, developers, investors etc. With such a variety of people attending we thought we’d generate some publicity for Oxygen Accelerator in the form of t-shirts- of course.

Despite some of our startups not being keen on the idea of wearing Oxygen tees (obvs not cool enough to pull them off) the rest of the guys were more than happy to show them off.

Here’s Sam modelling his t-shirt. The tees were perfect for the ‘Indian Summer’ we had that day hence the shorts. We got our t-shirts printed at Birmingham based company ‘Print and Promotions‘. They did an excellent job so thanks guys.

With the shameless promotion sorted the teams made their own way to ‘The Big Smoke’ via Chiltern Railways.

Once they got there it was all free beer, networking and listening to pitches from the likes of Hewlett Packard and ClipDo. There was even a pitch on Oxygen!

Here’s our very own Oxygen Accelerator chief Simon Jenner pitching in his Oxygen tee. Actually he could be doing a spot of karaoke, we’ll never know?!

The teams had so much fun in London at the event and were glad they made the journey dahn sahf to take part. So thanks to MiniBar for the invite.

Were you at the MiniBar event in London last Friday (30th September)? Did you spot any of the Oxygen team? Why not tweet us @oxygenaccel
